Over the years Alun has written on a freelance basis for many publications on subjects ranging from mobile phones to digital audio equipment and PCs and from electric cars to industrial heritage. He firmly believes the best operating system is the one you’ve spent the last decade mastering. Prior to becoming a technology writer, he worked at Sony Music for 15 years. A native of Scotland but an adopted Mancunian, Alun holds a degree in Early Medieval History, is an active trade unionist and divides his time between writing, listening to live music and dealing with an obstreperous Norwegian Elkhound.
